Warpage is usually caused by molded-in stresses. The issue of warpage is related to being a semi crystalline material, HDPE, being semi crystalline polymer, will have differential shrinkage along and across the flow leading to warpage. It is difficult to eliminate this problem just by optimizing processing parameter. If use of multiple gates is possible, that might help multidirectional flow leading to lesser warpage.
The two areas that will have greatest affect are injection mold temperature and gating being both location and type. Not knowing configuration or flow difficult to give specific advice, but think of the part on a molecular scale. I work for an OEM company, and we generally prefer United States injection molds for the following reasons. We have China injection molds in production now, but some of our experiences tend to make us prefer to keep tooling stateside.
Mold Design - We tend to get better designed molds in the USA. If the injection mold can be designed in the US and build in China, this has produced superior molds for us.
Lead Times - Maybe we just had a bad experience, but one injection mold seemed to take the slow boat across the ocean. The lead time wasn't competitive with a stateside mold.
Mold Trial - Generally not possible to be on hand for the initial injection mold trial in China.
Mold Modifications - We have gotten better/faster injection mold modifications when the mold was able to be sent back to the original mold maker in the USA. Sending the mold to China to be modified is cost prohibitive, so a 3rd party mold maker has to make the injection mold modifications.
Over the years we have been taken advantages of with the low cost of plastic injection mold manufacturing in China. You get what you pay for. I have heard of an injection mold cracking in half just last year from China, water poring out of it in the press. As an injection mold maker back in the 80's and 90's we started to see import steel making its way to our machines. We could tell on the CNC's or polishing we were not getting what we bargained for. After heat treat OMG, warp. We use to say they put old "bed springs" in the alloy mix. When drilling a hole in this steel it would not be constant feed rate by hand, you could feel the drill push easy then hard etc. So we had to be very precise in ordering our plastic injection molds with certification. We ordered 4 large injection molds from a Chinese manufacturer in 2004, the heat treat was horrible, we did not get our certification, it looked fake. Someone was trying to pull a fast one. I hardness tested several blocks from the plastic injection molds, not good. We spent approx $450,000 for those injection molds back in 2004 and we tried to outsource and handle the engineering real close. We tried to do everything real and it back fired. These injection molds were for electrical components and tolerances on my parts were critical, 4 to 8 cavity molds, the quality was just not there. Glass filled nylon wore down these plastic injection mold in 8 months, we had to retool.
Many Chinese injection mold making companies has also made significant progress in the CAE application, and achieved good results. CAE technology can greatly save the cost of test mode, shorten the development cycle, and has become an important means to ensure injection mold quality. CAE technology is gradually changing the mold design from experience to scientific.

Injection mold makers inspect the mold materials in time after the materials arrive to factory, and arrange technicians to do locksmith works, include turning, grinding, milling, screw holes, water carrying hole, center hole, CNC roughing, etc. The technicians should pay attention to the precision of each right-angle sides, avoid empty of the center hole and each production base, roughing margin etc. Then outsource each mold part to heat treatment promptly.
7. After heat processing, plastic injection mold maker must detect its hardness and metallurgical analysis. Generally, the core hardness 46-50HRC, for uniform distribution of 9 points, requiring its hardness differ is less than 1HRC. Metallurgical analysis should be done for the injection mold core prior to processing to make sure there is no segregation, scars, etc.
8. Electrode processing, there are fine and rough processing, fine male spark is 0.08, rough male spark is 0.2 (subject to the actual situation). Be sure to pay attention to each processing benchmarks, and detect electrodes after processing finished.
9. Before finishing, must make right angle for the mold core, the vertical degree should less than 0.02 mm, finish degree 1.6.
10. For line cutting, please note that all parts' base, enlarge 0.02mm for the insert hole and center hole as tolerance clearance, for non-standard thimble, the tolerance clearance is 0.04mm of the actual thimble size.
11. Mold core finishing, shall base on the benchmarks after making right-angles, typically leaving 0.02 mm die as a margin (without considering tool wearing).
12. EDM processing, process according to the drawings' size, fine 0.08, rough 0.2 (subject to the actual situation), pay attention to the benchmarks in processing, for sparks processing, the leave a margin of 0.03-0.05 mm.
13. The runner surface must be polished to achieve ▽6 or ▽7 finishing, the surface does not allow spark or knife pattern exists.
14. Before assembling the plastic injection mold, the mold maker must do a comprehensive inspection for all related parts to make sure everything is in a good condition, and do cleaning and anti-rust treatment. Then fill "Mold Inspection Summary" form.
15. In tryout, injection mold designers, plastic mold makers and die casting workshop personal should go to the site, making analysis and solution of abnormal in casting tryout, improving the plastic injection mold and die casting process according to the results, and fill "Mold Tryout Report".
16. By 100-150 cycle time, the tryout products are defect-free, the production department make production schedule, the technicians track the production processes, and feedback yield to the plastic injection mold making department.

How an injection molder do the colored samples
Once you provide the color code, we can produce the color pigment to match the color code. Raw material and color pigment will be mixed by certain ratio base on actual situation, it may need some adjustment on the ratio, Goal is they match color pigment.
Key factors to mold colored parts
Clean your injection machine barrel: Make sure the injection machine barrel is clean to make sure there is no contamination, slight contamination in barrel could cause high scraps rate
Setting proper molding temperature: it happens the mold samples have black spots all over the surface of the molded parts, this could be the reason of the temperature are setting too high during molding.
Diffusion: some of the resin melt flow property is not very good, such as PC or PC/ABS, in that case you need use grain color pigment instead of color powder to make sure resin and color pigment are properly mixed. If you don't, the molded part may have uneven color.
Fix the injection parameter: colored molded parts may be different from batch to batch, this is something you can't avoid completely due to condition changes all the time, but control the pigment resource stable and setting the injection molding parameter can make the difference as unnoticeable as possible.
